Customer's question-Resthyro for cat hyperthyroidism

We received a question about our Resthyro for cat hyperthyroidism and we would like to share this with you for your information.
"Hi, I just wanted to know if the Resthyro will make the T4 values go down to the normal range (I will see the results on the blood test)? Will it decrease the effects of Hyperthyroidism on the heart, blood pressure, breathing? Or is it more of just a calming effect?"
Resthyro is formulated to balance thyroid hyperactivity and relieve related symptoms.
Rapid heart rates are common with hyperthyroidism, and heart murmurs and high blood pressure can also occur.

However, many of the signs of hyperthyroidism can also be found in other diseases such as diabetes, kidney failure, heart disease, or liver disease and other laboratory tests such as a CBS, urinalysis and serum chemistry may be done to determine if these diseases are present. Resthyro will be helpful if the high T4 level is caused by hyperthyroidism. An animal with concurrent kidney, heart, or other debilitating disease may have hyperthyroidism but a normal or only slightly elevated T4.

If the only disease the pet has is hyperthyroidism and not on concurrent diseases as mentioned above then the Resthyro should lower the T4 level. In order to determine the T4 level a blood test would need to be done. If the Resthyro works for this pet by reducing the T4 level then the other symptoms such as heart rate and blood pressure should dissipate.
