Hemolytic Anemia in Dogs

"My dog has a reoccurrence of hemolytic anemia. The vet started him on prednisone and now he has diarrhea and won't eat. Do you recommend him taking a supplement to increase his red blood cells and help with his stomach and diarrhea.

Help I am at the mercy of these doctors."

I'm afraid we do not have any products for hemolytic anemia. This imbalance between red blood cell creation and destruction can be caused by many different things. You will need to find out the cause of this imbalance from your vet in order to treat it. The causes are widely varied from poisons and pharmaceuticals to genetics.

We do have Canine Plantaeris that is extremely effective in combating diarrhea. This will only stop the diarrhea not treat the cause of it. If he just needs some time to get over the cause of the diarrhea then this may be a good option for you. We also have some very good supplements that would help to maintain his nutrient levels. On product in particular is Canine Nupro. This is a rounded supplement and will not focus on his iron deficiency though, so you may want to take the ingredient list found on our website to your vet so that they can make sure it will help in his deficiency.

ES Clear For Diabetic Cats

"I was just advised that my cat has a cancerous tumor. Surgery and chemo are out as he is 14 and diabetic. Would your product help him at all and not affect the diabetes?"

We have had other owners use ES Clear with a diabetic pet. There is no interference with the blood sugar or if you are giving your pet insulin. What it does is work to boost the immune system and detoxify the system. We have had cases of pets carrying on with a normal life for years, and sometimes it just allows for quality time. It is not a miracle cure for cancer, but it helps your pet fight the cancer.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Cats

"I have a 14 year old cat just diagnose with Squamous cell Carcinoma. Do you have any products which can aid in shirking or managing of this type of cancer? Thank you."

Hello,

We have a product called Feline ES Clear that is useful for all types of cancers that benefit from boosting the immune system. We have had pets who have been treated for Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The results are a slowdown of the spread of the cancer to other locations as well as providing more quality time.

In other types of cancer, there have been cats who have experienced a reduction in tumor size for internal tumors, but this has been over longer periods of time.

Unfortunately, Squamous Cell Carcinoma is an aggressive form of cancer and often it will recur despite aggressive treatments of the visible tumor.

ES Clear and its use with Feline Leukemia

"Can you tell me if your product FELINE ES Clear would have any results in a cat with feline leukemia, thank you"

We have had many customers use ES Clear in cases of feline leukemia. It is not meant for treatment of leukemia, as leukemia is a virus. Because leukemia can manifest into cancerous tumors the ES Clear is given as a preventative treatment. What it does, is work to boost the immune system and detoxify the system. This is also helpful with other symptoms of the leukemia like diarrhea and lethargy. It would be an excellent secondary treatment or companion treatment.

Thank You for the New Product Testimonials

I just wanted to say thank you to Cassandra, Elaine, Amber, and Leigh for their testimonial submissions about our new products.

We have carried Resthyro and Supraglan now since January 2007. Although we viewed vet testimonials from the manufacture before carrying the products, we like to hear back from our customers. We sent out an email to a handful of the first customers to purchase these products to ask if they were seeing the results that they had hoped. We got some great emails as well as some pictures back.

We are extremely sensitive to customer feed back, both positive and negative. We refuse to sell products that are not proven or up to our customer's standards, and will discontinue products will negative reviews.

I also personally love to hear about your pets and to see pictures, it makes my day. Thank you again.

Homemade Diets for Cats

Because diet plays such a large roll in treating many physical ailments I receive many questions about homemade diets. Homemade diets are a great way of making sure your cat receives optimum nutrition, but also allows you to manipulate it for special diet restrictions.

Here is some information that I found in a book called Natural Health Bible for Dogs & Cats by Shawn Messonnier D.V.M. Please remember that I am not a vet. This is just added information for you to make a more rounded decision on the options open to your cat.

Note: Before you start to feed your cat a home-prepared diet, it is strongly recommended that you discuss your decision with your veterinarian. It is essential that you follow any diet's recommendations closely, including all ingredients and supplements. Failure to do so could result in serious consequences for your pet.

Basic Diet for Cats

1/3 to 1/2lb of ground meat (turkey, chicken, lamb, beef)

1/2 to 1 large hard-boiled egg
1/2 ounce of clams chopped in juice
4 teaspoons chicken fat or canola oil
1/8 teaspoon potassium chloride
100 mg taurine

If kidney failure is present, the diet is adapted to offer lower protein and phosphorus with increased potassium. High quality protein (1-2 hard-boiled eggs) is used as the protein source (2-3 ounces salmon or tuna can be substituted).

One of our more popular show products is Canine and Feline Lesstress. This is a wonderful drug free way to calm your pet for traveling and pre-show anxiety. Noise, bright lights, crowded places or strange locations can really tax your pet even the most seasoned show pet. With the reduction of stress you will also help hydration and boost the immune system.

Also watch for our new product this month, Nupro Electrolytes. This product is also recommended for show pets. It is Gatorade for cats and dogs, helping with hydration, balancing fluids in the blood and tissues, improving appetite after stress or workouts, and improving stamina.
