Puppy flushed down the toilet London

In Northhold London, a puppy was accidently flushed down the toilet. Daniel Blair, the cocker spaniel's young owner, decided the puppy needed a bath after playing in the yard so he put the put in the toilet and gave it a wash. The puppy got stuck in the waste pipe for 4 hours. Plumbers rescued the pup who is reportedly doing fine.

I've covered this topic before that puppies should be monitored with their toddlers/young kids, especially in the case noted above.

It is important that when a new puppy is introduced to the home, proper care and education and supervision is required. A puppy is another member of the family, not a toy.

Accidents happen and although both puppy and child were fine, there have been instances that out of defense and accident, animals have attacked children.

When people call my rescue group wanting a dog/cat for a child, I refuse them because I think it is potentially dangerous.I believe it is wrong to get a dog or any other living being for a toddler. They do not have the reasoning capacity to realize that the animal in question is not a toy.
The family in this instance should have been charged with animal cruelty and the puppy removed. What will happen to the dog when he/she gets older and rebells against being stuffed into the toilet? The dog will bite and suffer the consequences yet again of a negligent human and the child will be traumatized.

It's all about being a responsible pet owner. A child doesn't have the ability to be this, actually many adults don't either. When you adopt a pet for your child just remember, YOU are adopting the pet and it's YOUR responsibility to see that the animal gets proper care. I'm just happy that this little guy was rescued and didn't drown.
