Problem puppies off leash, unfixed mother How to deal

It's important to keep the peace with fellow neighbors.

The following was a complaint made on a Q&A dog board. Hopefully no one else has experienced this, however, these situations do unfortunately exist.

Okay my neighbours dog had 6 puppies sometime in August. They are cute as can be but they are now at least two months old and running the neighborhood along with the momma dog. The mom isn't fixed which she will probably end up pregnant again. I have asked the people to please do something about them because it is getting to the point where i can't even take my dogs out without dealing with other peoples dogs. I just am at a loss on what to do I don't want to call animal control because if my dogs happens to go over there i don't want them to call animal control on them. When I say something to them about the dogs it seems like they get mad. For example last night I went out to take my dogs out and looked on the porch and the mom and puppies were camped out on my grill cover just laying there.

In most cities, there is a leash law. It is in the person's best interest to find out these leash laws, print the law and place it in their mail box signed anonymously. If the situation does not improve, animal shelters will take the dogs and in most cases, will be adopted.

Writing a letter can be overwhelming in any circumstance as unlike phone or personal conversation, it is often difficult to dissect the tone. Below is an example from a few letter writing sites on how you can write a generic letter in regards to the situation above. You will also want to send a copy of the letter to animal control.

Dear Sir/Madam:

On (date of the contract), (summarize the complaint above).

As per city law (outline the laws and copy and paste if possible).

Please rectify the situation otherwise further action based on the law outlined above will have to forwarded.

Calling animal control may cause future problems with the neighbors, however, you do not have to inform the neighbour that it is you specifically making the call. Remember that this is for the welfare of the dogs, the rest of the neighbourhood as well as yourself.

Luv Sheila & Freedom
