Hemolytic Anemia in Dogs

"My dog has a reoccurrence of hemolytic anemia. The vet started him on prednisone and now he has diarrhea and won't eat. Do you recommend him taking a supplement to increase his red blood cells and help with his stomach and diarrhea.

I'm afraid we do not have any products for hemolytic anemia. This imbalance between red blood cell creation and destruction can be caused by many different things. You will need to find out the cause of this imbalance from your vet in order to treat it. The causes are widely varied from poisons and pharmaceuticals to genetics.

We do have Canine Plantaeris that is extremely effective in combating diarrhea. This will only stop the diarrhea not treat the cause of it. If he just needs some time to get over the cause of the diarrhea then this may be a good option for you. We also have some very good supplements that would help to maintain his nutrient levels.
