Our 9 year old Scottie has just been diagnosed with diabetes. Should we give insulin or try one of the other methods such as Diavetin? Any information will be helpful. Thanks
Diavetin, and feeding low-carb meat instead of dry food, worked a miracle on my 12 year old diabetic cat. Blood sugar normal in just under 2 months, and lots of side-benefits. We gave no insulin at all, but you can, apparently combine treatments.
Good luck
Feeding low-carb meat instead of dry food is a highly recommended part of feline diabetic treatment. See felinediabetes.com and www.catinfo.org for good advice on this.
Unfortunately I don't think the miracle liquid mentioned above has much evidence behind it, and the Michigan chiropractor who sells it from his several anonymously-registered websites is already in trouble from the FDA. Details on that here (See alternative #1).
